Who is SHE?
Welcome to SHEnatural… a blog designed to provide information to help you live a healthier, more natural life.
I’m Elisabeth… a wife, a creative and a dreamer. I have a degree in Journalism and have been studying natural health and wellness for 7 years. During those 7 years, my life has drastically changed, and I have been able to share the knowledge I’ve learned with others and see their lives changed as well.
So now I hope to pass on a little of what I’ve learned (and am still learning) and share some amazing remedies and healing methods to those who are just beginning to scratch the surface of natural living.
I am also in the process of pursuing a career in mental health counseling specializing in holistic and natural treatment options. I'm troubled by the lack of natural options in the field of mental health. The take-this-drug-and-maybe-you'll-feel-better-and-if-you-don't-we'll-give-you-another-pill treatment for people who are suffering emotionally is unbelievably insensitive. People are living miserable lives and committing suicide because even their therapists won't listen to them. It's sad and unnecessary... and time for a change.

Why is SHE natural?
Elisabeth
My journey into the world of natural health began while I was in college. In high school, I was the girl who ate cheese curls and drank a diet soda for breakfast and would squeal with glee when it was corn dog day in the cafeteria (this seriously happened… multiple times).
I was skinny. Really skinny. So I didn't think there was any need to concern myself with what I ate.
Fast forward to junior year of college. I was addicted to Diet Dr. Peppers (yes, addicted... it's scary how comforting those things were to me). Hypoglycemic since the age of 11, I had replaced my sugary sodas with the aspartame-laden poison pops which were "safe" as far as I knew and according the FDA. But ten years of drinking those diet drinks religiously began to take a toll on my mind and my body.
I was constantly going to the doctor for numbness in my legs, dizziness, confusion, mental fogginess and heart palpitations. Those are not normal symptoms for a 20 year old college student. The doctors, of course, chalked it up to anxiety and tried to put me on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety drugs. Thank God I was smart enough not to take those.
Long story short, I found out my symptoms were linked to the aspartame in all my sugar-free goodies. At that point -- fearing for my life or at least the quality of my life -- I loosened my grip on my Diet Dr. Pepper, threw it in the trash and never looked back. My symptoms were gone within months.
Along the way I discovered the world of homeopathy which has enabled me to get rid of my hormone-related migraines, helped repair a torn ligament in my mother’s knee and completely took away my husband’s miserable seasonal pollen allergy.
I've found herbal remedies that lessened my debilitating menstrual cramps by 90% and helped relieve flu symptoms in a matter of hours. I no longer have to go to the doctor twice a year for sinus infections – I have an herbal tea for that.
I am one person whose life has been drastically changed by discovering the power of the natural world. First it will heal your body, but over time you will awaken and discover a new you – the real you.
It’s a journey. You may never eat or live as purely as you would like, but one step at time you can work toward a healthier, more fulfilling life here on Earth.
Be free. Be happy. Be natural.
